The O Show tells the story of Orene Askew, a motivational speaker, DJ and inspiration to youth and her many peers in Vancouver. Her work as a community leader has enabled so many youth and individuals to see themselves in her and her incredible diverse work that reflects the many communities Orene is a part of.
This documentary looks into the life of an Afro-Indigenous, Two-Spirit human that continues to speak out and represent her Black community in Vancouver during the BLM protests and marches in Vancouver, her LGBTQ community by leading the PRIDE Parade as the official DJ (DJ O Show) and participating by taking an active seat on their board, and being an elected member and spokesperson for the Squamish Nation Chief and Council.

The O Show is currently in its festival run, and has garnered multiple awards and recognition including BEST DOCUMENTARY and BEST EDITING at the Vancouver Short Film Festival (VSFF 2022), BEST SHORT at the Squamish International Film Festival (SIFF) 2021 and BEST SHORT DOCUMENTARY at V.i.Z. Fest 2021!
